Greetings, I’m Matteo Medaru. I’m a 19-year-old Italian digital artist and graphic designer with a lifelong passion for drawing, creating and designing. My current goal is to improve and refine my technical skills so I can better express my vision and my ideas through my art.
As already hinted, I have a great passion for digital art and graphic design. I focus mostly on designing and drawings character and creatures in the artistic field, while in the graphic design one posters and logos. I’m also interested in web design, video-editing and storytelling.
I’m now in my final year at the Fondazione Daimon Technical Institute for Graphics and Communication (2021-2026), where I’ve developed my skills. As for the future, I plan to pursue a degree in Communication Design at Politecnico di Milano, starting this year.
I’ve done and completed two internships thanks to the initiatives of my technical institute. I worked in 2024 at Nordgraf, specialized in offset and digital litography, and in 2025 at GrafService, focused mostly on digital UV and die-cut. More details are expressed in the dedicated section.
As already mentioned, I’ve done within the printing industry two internships so far, which improved my technical and, significantly, manual skills and gave me a clearer insight into how the industry generally operates.
Nordgraf is where I’ve done and completed my first internship, in 2024. It’s a small company specializing in litography and bindery, with a focus on offset and digital printing. For most of the internship I’ve done print-finishing tasks, such as cutting, packaging and sorting printed products, but also carried out few graphic design works. I initially faced some challenges while working as I was unfamiliar with most tasks; over time, I learnt how to perform them efficiently and developed good manual skills. In fact, this experience and the acknowledge attained proved very helpful in the future, especially during my second internship.
GrafService is where I’ve completed my second internship, in 2025. Another small company, focused on a wide range of processes, where I’ve done, besides the usual print-finishing tasks, tons of graphic design works, some of which printed later (a limited selection can be seen below). Thanks to my skills previously developed, I performed greatly throughout this internship, without encountering any problem. I gained a deeper understanding of the industrial world and also acquired hands-on experience with some professional machines of the company like their flatbed cutter, shrink wrapper and digital spot UV coater.
The photos below feature some of my graphic design work printed during my internship. These are the only works I can share due to privacy reasons from the printing companies.
A selection of my best graphic works and projects, ranging from simple logos to elaborate advertisement posters, that I made in different occasions: for school, for work, for myself and some for design contests. Heads up: most of the works featured here are in italian.
My logo’s design is essentially a reflection of myself: a blue gradient for the color to evoke innovation and dynamism while also conveying calm and stability, paired with a bold geometric font for the logotype to express modernity and professionalism – all qualities associated with technology. However, for my work I’ll use just the logomark, a simple yet effective monogram of my initials: two ‘M’s that serve as the outlines of a large one.
A school project that consisted of inventing an event based on two distinct themes and create an advertisement poster for it: for this project, I choose to merge “arcade” and “brain-training“. Besides the necessary information, the poster I designed features a maze-structured brain, with elements from the classic Pac-Man videogame inside. Lastly, it was requested to create some gadget mockups for the event, which can be seen below.
Major school project, with the main task of designing and animating a logo basing on a brief found online. I found selected AI Express, a company seeking for a symbolic logo. This is my design for them: the ‘A’ (artificial) being a blue gear, the ‘I’ (intelligence) being a magenta brain and the Express wordmark with a slanted typeface, a light-orange color and a hidden arrow to convey their specialty – dynamism and speed.
A group school work which consisted in designing the graphics for a white whine can and afterwards creating an advertisement poster and some simple mockups. My group and I decided to theme the graphics around our country, Italy. We chose green as the primary color for the project as it represents the white wine itself, the grapes and partially the Italian iconic landscapes. Disclaimer: the poster uses some AI generated elements.
Major school work which saw the production of various advertisement posters in different styles for my technical institute, Fondazione Daimon. For this project I made three posters: one vector which depicts the institute as a welcoming tree (structured with golden ratio), another one which encourages recruitment and one photographic which references “The Creation of Adam”. The posters can be seen below.
The first design contest I’ve ever entered, about 2026 Genova’s Oktoberfest. For my advertisement poster I incorporated as many coherent elements with the event as possible: musical notes as music’s a key theme of the event, the typical colorful houses of Genova alongside its iconic Lighthouse (whose top’s been recolored to resemble a beer glass), Tyrolean hats and, naturally, people having fun and toasting!
Huge school group work focused on the design, organization and management of a production process and its related communication. My group and I worked as a graphic studio for a hypothetical international music festival (Music Expo) and divided the work between us based on our skills: with the support of my teammates, I designed the logo, an advertisement poster and partially the tickets for the festival.

A selection of various drawings and designs I made that I’m proud of. I rarely do fleshed out drawings since I mostly doodle: it’s my personal way to come up rapidly with ideas. Besides personal creations, I also do sometimes fanarts of medias I like.
